Jewellery

Protect all jewellery from scratches, strain/ pull, sharp objects, chemicals, extreme temperatures and sunlight. After each wearing, gently wipe each piece of jewellery clean of make-up and skin oils with soft, cotton cloth. We also recommend storing jewellery separately to avoid pieces scratching each other.

Apply make-up and hair spray before putting on your jewellery. Make-up and hair spray contain chemicals that may affect your jewellery. Store jewellery away from the sunlight as the sun may cause fading. Avoid wearing jewellery while in a pool, hot tub, or bath. The chlorine in the water can damage various gemstones and metals including gold.

Frequent, gentle cleaning is recommended as salt/hard water, chlorine in swimming pools, soap, perfumes, personal products and perspiration take their toll on all fine jewellery. We recommend wiping your jewellery carefully with a soft cloth to keep it clean and enjoy.

When using commercial silver/gold cleaners read the label carefully, and if in doubt, do not use a chemical cleaner. Jewellery polishing cloth can be used lightly to restore lustre. Do not press hard when polishing plated jewellery or you may damage the surface.

Sterling Silver

Tarnishing is a normal process caused by oxidisation or moisture from air and silver is one of the quickest metals to oxidise so may require regular cleaning. To get that glimmer back, silver polish/ cleaner (you can just drop your jewellery into and let the liquid work its magic) will get your goods gleaming in a jiffy and both are widely available. A polishing cloth will also work especially on flat pieces.

Gold

Known as the metal of the gods, you should not experience any oxidisation or allergies with gold.

Plated Metals

Over time with heavy use plated metals may wear off so please treat them with care and avoid wearing plated metal jewellery while in a pool, hot tub, or bath; before applying make-up, hair spray, perfumes. We recommend a gentle, regular cleaning with a soft cloth and storing each piece separately and avoid heat and damp.

Pearls

Pearls may require restringing as the thread may absorb perfume, cosmetics or perspiration and in turn may wear out or may break. For our pearl bracelets on stretchy clear thread, please avoid excessive pull or force as this may cause the bracelet to snap. Over time continuous pull/ force may also cause the loss of elasticity and the bracelet will remain overstretched and may not ‘bounce’ back.
